accepts unsolicited submissions year round and there are no fixed guidelines as to content or length. Submissions to the magazine must be original and previously unpublished. ASF considers work that has appeared online (including on blogs and Facebook) to be previously published.

Harper Collins seeking fiction submissions
Harper Collins Australia
is inviting unsolicited manuscripts from aspiring authors in Australia, New Zealand and around the world. Every Wednesday submissions will be accepted through their Wednesday Post portal. Submissions will only be accepted through Wednesday Post and should meet all the guidelines outlined on the site. They are currently looking for adult fiction and non-fiction including novels (all genres), memoirs, biographies, narrative histories, young adult, popular science and illustrated non-fiction.

Words with Jam Short Story competiion
Categories comprise a 2500 word Short Story Category on any theme, a Shorter Story Category for stories up to 1000 words and a Shortest Story Category for stories up to 250 words.
Overall Prize Pot £1500
1st prize in each category - £300
2nd prize in each category - £100
3rd prize in each category - £50
5 runners up in each category will be published in the second volume of our Short Story Anthology (of which they will receive a copy), and awarded £10.
All winners and runners up will receive a printed copy of our first Short Story Anthology (inclusion optional*).

Mike McCormack and Dave Lordan join us on November 2nd to share their experiences writing and publishing short stories at the Irish Writers' Centre's Short Story Publishing Information Day .
The day also features Lisa Frank and John Walsh from Doire Press, who will give you an insight into how to approach a publisher, what they are looking for, and tips in formatting your collection.
This is followed by Jennifer Matthews from The Long Short Story, who will talk about publishing and promoting your work online. Finally Seán Carabini will then talk about the James Plunkett Short Story Awards with an insight into the judging process and what makes a good competition story.
