About
the brownbread mixtapethe brownbread mixtape is a monthly themed night of music, spoken word, comedy and performance upstairs in The Stag’s Head pub in Dublin city. Each month a new theme is chosen and artists are asked to perform a piece (or three) related to the chosen theme. The show is hosted and run by resident MC & poet Kalle Ryan and musician & sound man Enda Roche. All of the acts are generally booked many months in advance, but if you fancy performing then come along to one of our shows and speak with us about getting a future slot. Or email us at thebrownbreadmixtape@gmail.com with a little bit of info about yourself and ideally a link to some of your material online. we receive a lot of inquiries so we promise that we will be in touch as soon as we can.
Join us on May 22nd for a special one-off “Imagination and Transformation” themed brownbread mixtape show at Smock Alley that we are staging as part of this year’s Dublin Writer’s Festival. We are honoured to be part of this prestigious event on the literary calendar and we have lined up a lively, literarily inspired bill to match. We will have powerful performance poetry from multi award winning poet Dave Lordan, snappy sketch comedy from The Brownbread Players and masterful music from Idiot Songs (songs inspired by Dostoevsky’s The Idiot and performed by Pearse McGloughlin and Justin Grounds). We are also delighted to showcase first time performance poets from the Dublin Young Authors group. Show starts at 7pm and admission is 5 EURO.
