In the 1980’s, the friendship between Minihan and Samuel Beckett produced some of the most remarkable images of the writer. Minihan first photographed Beckett at the Hyde Park Hotel in London in 1980 and then for years later at the Riverside Studios always in London, during rehearsals for the San Quentin Drama Workshop’s production of Waiting for Godot. Here the writer is portrayed at the Petit Cafe on the Boulevard St. Jaques in Paris.
Inscription reads 'Samuel Beckett photographed at the Petit Cafe on the Boulevard St. Jaques, Paris. December 1985. - John Minihan.
